Visualizing Concepts with Gencraft AI and Creative Lighting | Charlotte FC 2024 Media Day

As you know, I have done media day for Charlotte FC for 2 years straight, where we were tasked with creating the clean imagery on a white background. But this year, I had the opportunity to do the creative set, which I was very excited for! While brainstorming concepts to pitch to their team, I used Gencraft to create AI mockups of the concept, using color gels and fog, as you can see below.

I’ll be honest, I wasn’t always a fan of using AI, but after being introduced to gencraft, it helped me understand that these tools could be used to help clients get a clear visualization of concepts that may be hard to explain. Here is some of the awesome work that was created during media day!

AGPTEK Fog Machine

For this shoot we used a 5 light set up. The key light was a beauty dish, and I had 2 fill lights, an octabank right underneath the key light, and a 7 foot umbrella behind me. For the backlights, we had 2 softboxes, one on each side, with a blue gel, aimed towards the subject. Below is an example of the lighting diagram:

We incorporated six fog machines: two behind the subject, two to the right, and two to the left, with one positioned high and one low on each side. Now the biggest challenged we faced was making sure that the fog didn’t overpower the set. We had a production assistant on set with a leaf blower, and his job was to air out the set when it was too overpowering.
